 Life Enrichment

Everyone needs something to look forward to and everyone enjoys some
friendship. You can be the person to brighten someone's day when you
visit a resident in a long term care facility. Visits help to
stimulate new interests and provide a break from the routine. During a
visit, volunteers can read to residents, take them for a walk or a
wheelchair ride, sit and talk, or simply listen. Volunteer visitors
bring a little of the outside world to people who may not get regular visits
from family and friends. You'll benefit too, learning all about the
life experiences of the people you visit.

- If you'd like to help brighten someone's day, become a Life Enrichment
volunteer. No special qualifications are needed - just the desire to
serve as a friend and share your time. Life Enrichment volunteers establish
a one-on-one relationship with four or more residents of a nursing home or

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in an initial training program as
provided by the Life Enrichment Staff
- Visit one or more assigned nursing homes on a
regular basis
- Establish a companion relationship with the
residents
- Sign in and out during each visit to the
nursing home or facility
- Report any problems or concerns to the Life
Enrichment Program Director
